I decided to become a home health companion after caring for my Grandmother. My Grandmother was a beautiful kind person who opening her doors to anyone who needed a kind word of advice, or a safe place to sleep. But when her health began to fail and she turned 93 and she began to fall asleep while cooking in her Kitchen or would accidentally lock herself outside we knew she needed a home health companion and I was glad to volunteer. As early as 5 years old I loved being around older people my family said I have always had an old soul and could relate to there needs and wants. After caring for my Grandmother those many years ago I knew that I would always want to provide companion care for others who needed not just anyone to care for there loved ones but who would treat there loved ones with dignity honor and respect the way they would want to be treated.
