I initially became interested in working with Seniors when I volunteered as a companion for a couple 15 years ago before I retired. Several years ago I answered an ad to assist a home bound couple & have been working ever since. I call myself a "Personal Trainer for Body & Mind" - With my clients I play word & number games, scrabble, checkers, Chinese checkers, do gentle physical workouts which incorporate yoga, stretching, walking & even some dancing. We also run errands, shop or just enjoy a cup of coffee. I administer medications & keep check on their general well-being when we're together. As an energetic retiree, I'm blessed to have found this second 'career'. I have a lifetime of studying & participating in physical fitness activities & a passion for keeping up to date with scientific studies regarding seniors (especially those suffering from different forms of dementia). Families trust me in their homes, with their credit cards & most importantly, with their loved ones.
