Hello my name is Tonja. I have been a caregiver my entire life. The oldest of 5 children, I basically raised my siblings. But I always enjoyed it even as a teenager. I have taken care of my parents and grandparents. I have been through lung cancer and their treatments, my father had a heart bypass and other problems. I took care of my grandmother, she also had cancer. I moved my grandparents into my home until the day they passed, one from cancer, she was 92, and fell, broke her hip. I took them all to their doctor appointments etc. I handled their finances also. I gave them the one thing they needed, love and compassion and not in a old folks home which was their fear. I did their shopping, cooking and so on. I have old school values; they are my family so I wanted to take care of them. I take care also of special needs children, mostly autism. I bond easily with them. Because I love them just the way they are. I also do house cleaning, washing clothes, dinner, just whatever your needs would be. I have 2 grown children and a 15 year old boy. I am married 37 years but find myself a single mom raising my son. My daughter helps out with my youngest when I am working if needed.
