I've been working with special needs children and adults for over 25 years. I taught drama to developmentally disabled adults and taught or tutored most school subjects to elementary, teen, and adult learners in classrooms, homes, non-profits, and tutoring centers. I have earned masters degrees in middle-secondary education and interdisciplinary arts, and I've been recognized for outstanding teaching locally, nationally, and internationally throughout my career. Some of my students have had identified special learning needs, and I assisted families as liaison to teachers, other tutors, school staff, and students' service providers. As the former director of volunteer services for a major Chicago teaching hospitaI, I hired, managed, and trained non-clinical volunteers serving patients with special needs. I am a caring, resourceful, and diligent individual, physically fit to provide assistance for all ages and conditions. I would love to serve your family.

Todd M. serves as our after-school tutor for our 11-year old daughter (6th GR) and 9-year old son (3rd GR). My husband and I both work full-time. We have enlisted Mr. M. to work with our children M-F from 3pm- 7pm. He picks them up from school and brings them home to focus on homework. He also manages pick-up/drop off for weekly off-site speech therapy sessions. Mr. M. immediately started helping both kids create daily lesson plans for themselves, which has taught them critical time management and executive functioning skills. He supports them on daily assignments and test prep in all subjects and has serves as an extra liaison with our teachers and therapy providers. He helps with light meal prep and keeping our house tidy. He is a motivator who helps our kids navigate life lessons, from graciously rising above 6th grade girl drama, to being a supportive Little League team player. He has quickly become a trusted extension of our family, and we highly recommend him.
