My experience and passion caring for special needs starts with my autistic twin sister. She is my main reason for wanting to advance in this career and I've gotten a lot of experience with the tutors and respite workers that have visited our home to work with her. It quickly became something I loved doing and I was even a teacher's assistant in high school for the autistic children. I've participated in activities with them, read books to them, helped them with basic housekeeping and would socialize with them. My dream is to reach a manager and or supervisor position working with special needs children. I also have experience caring for the elderly. I've worked for Brookdale assisted living. My duties were grooming, bathing, dressing, changing diapers, light housekeeping, and engaging in activities with them.
