I am a special education teacher with 16 years of experience. I taught an elementary autism unit for 5 years, and I have spent the past 10 years teaching in a middle school life skills classroom. I enjoy working with all types of children, but feel that I have a unique understanding of those who have autism. I have had tremendous success with managing disruptive and self-abusive behavior, promoting independence and helping individuals with disabilities become as independent as possible. I hold my students to a high standard, and inevitably the child will rise to meet the challenge.
