Since 2017 I am the primary caregiver to a quadriplegic man. I was also a primary caregiver to a woman with Alzheimer's for three years and her husband until he past in 2016. I have also taking care of several others who were physically impaired and/or had dementia. My duties have included but not limited to: bathing, transferring, toileting, medication, meal prep, feeding, ambulation, cognitive supervision and stimulation, and homemaker services. The reason I have become a caregiver started when my mother-in-law was diagnosed with PICA disease and I saw the underwhelming care she received compared to what she needed. I wanted to be able to make a difference in the life and care of the elderly. Assuring the families that their loved ones are being cared for as if they were taking care of them themselves. I love making personal connections with them by talking about their lives including their past & interest. My clients become embedded in my heart and feel like a part of my family.
