I have 25 plus years experience working with and caring for individuals with special needs. My Grandmother was visually impaired so I frequently assisted her with grocery shopping, cleaning, meal prep, grooming, errands and more. My 27-year-old daughter, and a few of my cousins have developmental delays, and autism. I've volunteered in my daughter's school on field trips and in the classroom assisting the students when needed. I worked as a Life, and a PA for a companies called Step By Step and Creative Steps. Our clients ranged from wheelchair and also non-verbal, to high functioning. I assisted in helping clients fill out job applications, go to job orientations, and then go to their job sites to help where needed. I helped clients in the community with life skills and hygiene. As a PA, I picked up clients and took them to program, home, or wherever they needed to go, all while educating them on directions and addresses.
