About Susan

Hello! I have been teaching high school English for 16 years, but I have been involved with young people since I was one myself. This includes not only teaching English, but babysitting, teaching guitar, leading Scouts and taking groups on camping trips, coaching basketball, and parenting my own six children. I've been an elementary school librarian, a girl scout leader and trainer, a music director (for both children and adults), a theater teacher and director, as well as a technical theater director. I've organized and directed local music events, including coffee-houses and open mics. I am passionate about music, literature, and the arts, as well as nature and the outdoors. I am usually reading 2 or 3 books at any given time. I love to write and teach writing and speaking/listening skills. I am a certified teacher for English Language Arts grades 6-12 in Florida and previously, in Maryland.
