I have 20+years of experience teaching elementary education. I am a mom of two adult children ages 22 and 24. In my years of teaching, I have worked as a Title1 Interventionist for grades K-6, Kindergarten Teacher, 1st Grade Teacher, Special Education Ed Tech, TA in various grades, Life Skills Support Teacher, Pre-School Teacher, Daycare Worker, and have had long term substitute positions at the elementary level. I have taught in both Maine and North Carolina. I have a love for teaching, learning and enjoy helping students get excited about their studies. Some of my qualities include compassion, empathy caring, nurturing and positivity. I believe to be a good teacher, you need to teach to your students. I am structured but also flexible. When teaching, I figure out how each child learns best and teach to them individually and to their strengths. Students have different learning styles. They can be visual, auditory, kinesthetic or multimodal learners.

Sue has been an absolute blessing to our family. She managed virtual learning for our oldest son (7), as well as 2 of our neighbor's kids (6 & 8) throughout the 20-21 school year. She also developed a Pre-K curriculum for our youngest (5), who will enter Kindergarten next year. She uses her experience and skills as a literacy coach and works with each of the kids with compassion and care. I have been most impressed with Sue's ability to use positive reinforcement to build our son's confidence as a learner. He has some challenges, and after Kindergarten was cut off for him, he became resistant and frustrated with reading. With Sue's attention, skill, and encouragement, he is now on- level for first grade and excited about school and reading. Going above and beyond, Sue has facilitated research projects and science experiments to engage the kids during track out. She has become a part of our family. We plan to keep in touch and will miss seeing her each day.
