I have been a Special Education Teacher for fifteen years, teaching emotionally disturbed, Autistic, learning disabled, and mentally children and adults in private and public settings. I absolutely adore teaching special needs children and am very passionate about bringing to them music and movement as a vehicle to more concrete learning. Being a musical director and pianist helps me utilize these skills during the teaching process as well as in house. So much learning and love can take place between myself and the child when placed in a 1:1 situation and it is truly magical when I see a child's eyes light up with realization, self actualization, and increased confidence.
