About Sheila

I have experience in caring for adult/senior patients in their homes or assisting them in nursing homes for their families. I've cared for terminally ill & special needs patients to assisted living patients. My experience started by caring for members of my own family who needed special care. I worked closely with hospice who taught me well and family who were/are in the medical profession. My experience includes the following areas: *Daily Hygiene: (including bed bound and/or paralyzed patients). Bathing, shaving, brushing teeth, dressing, diapering (if needed), styling hair and helping ladies with makeup and light manicures. *Medical: I've given medications per instructions and know how to administer some shots as trained by doctors for family members who were terminally ill. The dressing of wounds, massage for circulation and the applying/changing of a urinary catheter. *Housekeeping and errands: I assist with the cleanup of patient's clothes, bed linens, etc. I do light dusting and routine cleanup. I've prepared meals and helped with the shopping. I'm experienced in the scheduling of appointments, and transporting patients to their doctors etc. *Companionship: I have had no problem getting alone with my patients. I treat them with respect and show them much admiration. My one fault is that I tend to care too much for my patients. I treat them as if they were my own family whom I treasure and love dearly.
