About Shana

Currently I take care of an elderly gentleman in his 80's with Parkinsons Disorder, COPD, Bipolar, Capgras Syndrome and Dementia and assist his wife who has joint issues. My duties have included bathing and personal care, cognitive exercises, physical therapy exercises, medication management and assistance with medication devices, extensive help with getting pharmaceutical insurance coverage, and monitoring mental status and coordinating with doctors and family, companionship, meal prep and cleaning. I took care of both of by grandparents on and off for 7 years. I administered medications, cooked and cleaned for them, cleaned and bathed them, and did housework & laundry for them. My grandfather was in end stage Alzheimer's and my grandmother was frail they both were very physically impaired at the end of their lives. I am passionate about caring for seniors because I was privy to what happens when folks get impaired to the point that they can no longer can care for themselves.
