Saydi was our nanny from February 2013 until the end of the school year in mid-June 2014. She did before school care for my twins, one girl and one boy, who were six years old when she started working for us. Her duties included getting my kids up and ready for school, making them breakfast, making sure they brushed their teeth and cleaned their rooms, and getting them to the bus stop on time. Besides having her do these duties, I often asked her to make sure the kids got their homework done or practiced their piano. She always followed through with everything I ever asked her to do. Other mornings I wanted the kids to just play or have a relaxing morning. On these mornings, I expected that she simply watch the kids as they played. However, she played creative games with the kids, colored along with them, did crafts, and played sports with them in the basement or in the backyard. Always engaged with the kids, she made the mornings fun. My kids loved Saydi, and looked forward to her coming every day.
Besides taking good care of my kids, Saydi was the perfect nanny for other reasons too. First of all, she was one hundred percent reliable, which was very important to us. One time when she wanted to go on a vacation with her dad, she asked for a few days off at least a month in advance, so we had plenty of time to make other arrangements. Every day Saydi arrived at our house early, and even though I know some days she had to work late the night before, she would never act tired. In fact, she always arrived with her bubbly and cheerful attitude. She made me feel like she enjoyed coming to watch my kids. That she was very organized was very helpful when working with my son, who loses focus and dawdles when it comes to getting ready. She found effective strategies in working with our son and his attention issues. In addition, Saydi did things for us we didn t expect her to do. I never expected her to do dishes or clean up after my kids, but when I arrived home from work each day, it was so nice coming home to the dishes done and everything put in its place. Finally, Saydi was a great nanny because of her excellent communication skills. When she arrived each morning, my husband and I enjoyed chatting with her whether it was about our kids or what was happening in her life. I asked her to be honest with me about my kids behavior and wanted to know if they were fighting or not listening to her, and she did that. I felt like I always knew what was going on while I was gone because when I asked Saydi a question, she would give me an honest and detailed answer. This great communication we had made our time with her such a success. Therefore, I also knew she was a positive example of good communication for my kids.
I highly recommend Saydi as a nanny or babysitter for any family. I am confident she will work well with boys or girls of any age. She is such a positive, hard-working, and motivated person, and our whole family misses her dearly. She is by far the best nanny we have had. I would be happy to discuss her qualifications in more detail by phone or email.
