My main goal in working independently with persons on the Autism Spectrum and who are differently-abled is to bridge the gap that is so often found between the school system or service providers and therapeutic services. I know that not all families can afford to have occupational therapists or ABA therapists work in-home, and that the school and state systems are limited in time and resources. With my experience in both the health and wellness industry (I was formerly a personal trainer and am still very active in the fitness community in RVA) and working with those who are differently-abled, I hope to offer a unique service that is so much more than babysitting. I believe in active learning through strength of independence. I believe that working on life-skills and academics from a perspective of self-sufficiency can give every individual the freedom to grow and learn in a very functional way. I do my very best to offer sliding-scale rates dependent on what type of work I do with individuals, and I begin at $13 per hour. I am a hardworking individual with an excellent work history and an extremely positive attitude... absolutely NOT the 'sit and text' type of babysitter/tutor/therapist!
