My name is Samantha. I currently live in Bayfield, Colorado. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself, I started working in this field in 2008, as a private caregiver for my handicapped nephew, I went on to work at an assisted living facility in street, Maryland for two years, while it was just a starting position I continuously use knowledge I gained daily. In 2012 I made the change to become a direct support professional where I obtained a certified medication technician certification. While working as a DSP, I thoroughly enjoyed my position, I knew I had the the skills to perform more acute care. In 2015 I made the switch to personalized homecare. As a caregiver I provided respite care, hospice care, companionship, activities of daily living, medication administration, meal prep, as well as an extra level of care for the client as well as family. As a caregiver for the past years I have became proficient at documentation and effective communication.
