I have worked with children with special needs for 10 years at Duxberry Arts Impact. I help with lesson plans, I. E. P. goals, and daily living skills. I have a close friend who's child has down syndrome and I take care of her when she need's help. We go to the park, cook, read books, and I help her with her hygiene and toileting. What is most important to me is having a good rapport with the parents and family of the child. Knowing what is expected of me helps me do a great job with the child I am caring for. I love doing art and teaching new things. I also enjoy making portfolio's for the child. The parents can enjoy the art work and also see the growth and accomplishment's the child has made! I simply love providing care for children and I look forward to helping a family this summer!
