Ruth was a wonderful caregiver for my daughter - she cared for her full time from about six months to three years, then worked part time for one more year until we moved. Ruth always knew what my daughter needed, even if we didn't know she needed it - starting with her offering to expertly trim my daughter's sharp fingernails during her interview, a task that I still struggled with as a new mom. Ruth focused on communicating and interacting with my daughter throughout the day. They played, talked, sang and read books together. She made sure to engage her in age-appropriate activities ranging from nearly daily trips to the local park, where my daughter made lots of friends, to read-aloud time at the library. With her experience, Ruth knew how to set rules, to establish daily routines, how to add spontaneity as needed ... in short, she made it easy for me to leave for work because I knew that my daughter was in excellent hands.
