First of all, I'd like to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Taunton, MA, and currently reside in Bristol, RI. I am mom to an almost 25-year-old son, whom I raised on my own. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and have worked with children and their families for many years. I am currently working for a wonderful, busy family with five children in Mansfield, MA four days a week, and for a family in Newport one day a week. At this time, I am looking for some extra work on and weekends. I have been taking care of children since before I entered high school. I grew up in a house where my mom was always willing to help out people. Throughout the past several years, I have worked with adults with mental illness, adolescent girls within the DSS system and young children (age newborn and up). I have worked with multiples (triplets) and children with special needs (Autism, Down syndrome, Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum). I spent a summer with a family who had two preteen girls, one of whom had just been adopted from Russia. She could not speak any English when she first arrived here and she also had emotional and behavioral issues. Working with her was very challenging at times but it was also incredibly rewarding. I believe, that everything that happens to a child in their young life affects who they become as adults. There needs to be nurturing, fun, limits and consistency. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.

Robin is wonderful- she has worked with our family (2 girls) for over two years. I can't say enough good things about her: reliable, helpful, professional, organized, energetic, fun, creative. Robin is always willing and happy to help do whatever is needed to take care of the children. She is especially gifted in caring for children with special needs-she has been able to work daily with our daughter just like an occupational or physical therapist would. Robin is a rare find, we have been fortunate to have her care for our children.
