Currently, I am working as a para-educator in the special education classroom, I worked as a Child and Youth Care Counselor (CYCC) with the Special Services to Children and their Families Program. As a CYCC, I was responsible for providing service to children and youth with developmental, learning and/or physical disabilities. My experience working with special needs children started in 2007 in Singapore where I was a team teacher in a special education school working with children and youths with a variety of learning and physical disabilities. I also worked in a "before and after school" program for children aged 6 to 11 years old and as a para-educator in the Emotional Behavior Disorder classroom. Working with kids especially those with special needs gives me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I'm able to help in my own small way.
