I worked for the St. Paul School District with Slow Learners/Behavior Problem Children teaching with emphasis in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics from 1975-1980. I then became a "stay-at-home mom" with my 2 boys for about 10 years. In 1993, I started working as a Personal Care Assistant with an undiagnosed 1-year-old girl with low muscle tone having many similarities to Cerebral Palsy. She was wheelchair bound. I assisted with all her personal cares: dressing, feeding, grooming, toileting, mobility, repositioning, transfers, doctor visits, therapy, medication, and laundry. I was with her for 11 years. My 2nd client was born premature, with some complications requiring surgeries, and was tube-fed. She has some developmental delays including speech. I've been with her now for 9 years. I've always enjoyed working with infants-who you can grow and learn together with, building that bond of trust. I prefer one to one for more focus on their needs. I enjoy seeing their progress, and the joy they share in their accomplishments. I like to help others become the best they can be. I consider myself honest, dependable, trustworthy, and punctual. I love animals and have a good sense of humor.

Becky was a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) for our family for over 11 years. During this time, she has provided special, loving care for my daughter who is now 21 years old. Becky cared for her from age 1 through age 12. My daughter has cerebral palsy with global development delays. She is completely dependent on others for all of her daily cares including feeding/drinking, grooming/bathing, toileting, transfers, etc. Becky did an excellent job in providing this care for her. From the minute Becky arrived at our house until the minute she went home, I was comforted knowing that my daughter was in good hands and being well cared for. As a working mom of a severely handicapped child, this was very important to me. Becky also was a terrific fit and blended right in with our family. She had high integrity and our family really enjoyed having her around. She was a very hard worker who independently took responsibility. Becky was also extremely reliable and dependable. She was always on time for her shift, which was very important to our busy family. I have 3 other children that keep me running. Becky was also very flexible. She was always willing to work longer hours to accommodate my schedule. One of the things I really admired about Becky was her compassion; she treated my daughter just like the other kids, despite her disabilities. This coupled with her professionalism and sense of humor makes her one of my all-time favorite PCAs. My family and home is always busy and chaotic and Becky was very respectful of family matters that didn't concern her or my daughter. In summary, Becky was a long term PCA for my developmentally delayed daughter and she is also a great friend. As a PCA in our home, she gained valuable experience. I would strongly recommend Becky.
