Aloha! I am a recent graduate of UH Manoa with a BS in Marine Biology, taking a gap year. I have a passion for education, the environment, and conservation (definitely a self-described nerd!). Throughout my time at UH I did several years of research that specialized in place-based learning while conducting my own projects. The program encompassed applying science lessons to native Hawaiian flora and fauna, and teaching school children of all ages (K-12) about local environmental issues, marine life, and scientific survey techniques. While in high school I was a tutor for students at a local elementary school in NY. For all four years I tutored kids ranging in age from Pre-K through 8th Grade in all subjects. Although my degree is in STEM, I also have a deep love for the fine arts. I took many courses in writing, reading, and art. I hope to be able to help your family with schoolwork during this new kind of school year and I look forward to hearing from you!
