I care deeply about meeting children as the intelligent beings they are. Relating with them non-hierarchial, I see it as my task to support their uniquness and inherent wisdom to develop, help them feel and understand their emotions, create positive experiences, protect them and meet their needs. I have over 13 years experience and in that time have cared for infants through seniors in high school. I worked at an integrated preschool for 4 years, was a 7th grade math teacher and have been a nanny for several families (ages 2 months to 10 years). I love the outdoors, arts and crafts, dance parties, playing games, going on adventures, cooking and simply being present with children and having fun! I also love animals and am happy to do light housework.

Rachel is a former co-worker as a middle school teacher in the Syracuse City School District. In our school, we are regularly faced with challenging behaviors, and students with significant social, emotional and academic needs. In her classroom, Rachel creates strong structure and routines for her students, so they always know what to expect form her. Rachel also builds strong relationships with her students and their parents, and was a teacher that students respect and trust. Rachel regularly takes her time during lunch to work with students academically, and to continue to build relationships. Rachel also has high expectations for all of her students, and help each students accountable for their academic success. These skills make Rachel an ideal candidate for child care, as someone who understands the diverse needs of children, and how to best support those needs.
