I started working with special needs through my grandmother; I helped her volunteering at the local orphanage where we took children on day trips. I also volunteered with my dad at a senior citizen community center, where I regularly played cards with men who had deafness. Then, when my grandmother became ill, I helped my parents with feeding through an NG or nasal tube. In the last 10 years I helped to care for my two nieces and my wife's autistic brother. My experience is mostly with elderly care, lifting and mobility, taking to appointments, mealtime, and fun time. My other specialty is children, from babysitting to helping with schooling. I have first aid training.
