I volunteered as a student aide in special education classrooms for two years. I now work as a Respite Care Provider for special needs children. I'm looking for more work. I've cared for children since I was about 12 (7 years), but I've cared for special needs children around 3 years. I'm CPR and first aid certified, also WSI certified. I know a little sign language but I'm very eager to learn more. I have special needs in my family as well -- I have two baby cousins, one with autism and a 2-year-old with Down syndrome. It is quite ironic seeing that I already was in this line of work before they came along. I've cared for ages newborn-senior. I've experienced caring for autism, Angelman syndrome, anger issues/emotional behavioral issues, Asperger's, bathing assistance, blindness, cerebral palsy, deafness, emotionally under developed, Kabuki syndrome, mentally delayed, mute, non verbal communication, obesity, onset Alzheimer's, restroom assistance, wheelchair bound, and much more.
