I have about 3 years total working with children with special needs. I started out doing a summer daycamp (Camp A. I. M.) in college where I worked with kids with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other Special Needs kids. I had 6 kids in my group and loved working with them. Currently, I am employed in the afternoons working with a family that has a basically non-verbal 7-year-old with Autism. I absolutely love working with him. I have a passion for instilling confidence in kids and working with them to improve their skills. I also believe that they are just like everyone else, just with a different set of skills. I love to play, read, dance or whatever else they love to do with them. Special needs kids are very close to my heart, because they are so loving and people tend to underestimate their potential. I'm working to change that.

Nique is the most loving person I know and she cares deeply about the people in her life. She is enthusiastic, responsible, caring, nurturing, patient, kind, thoughtful, respectful and considerate. She has a fun sense of humor and always has a positive attitude. Nique also became friends with my daughter a few years ago, when we were going through some hard times, she was there for both me and my daughter. She was there to listen and she would send us little cards with encouragement and now that my daughter is away at college, Nique still sends her cards to check in on her and let her know she's there. I feel very blessed to say she is my friend and to have her in my life. :)
