As a junior and senior in high school I studied childcare through the Massachusetts Bay Community College's Tech Ed Programs. Through this program, I studied Child Growth and Development and Early Childhood Education. As part of this program I worked at the BLOCKS preschool at Framingham High School for more than the required three hundred hours. These courses and fieldwork allowed for me to receive my Massachusetts OCCS Certification. I wrote lesson plans for the children and executed them on a weekly basis.
I have also been an employee at "Whimsy", a local children's art studio for three years. I have been involved in many volunteer opportunities including tutoring at Cameron Middle School in Framingham, coaching a 6-year-olds soccer team 2008, coaching for Special Olympics 2009, and assisting in a second grade classroom at Stapleton Elementary School during the 2009-2010 school year.
Through the BLOCKS program I have developed a portfolio. I would love to interview with you and show you my portfolio. I love working with children and although I have never been a nanny I have established a strong relationship with many families after babysitting for them for many years (6+ years). Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
