In the past, I have tutored students in algebra 1, algebra 2, precalculus, calculus I for math. I was also a TA for my organic chemistry class for a quarter where I lead the study sessions and provided help for homework. What I have found that works best is if a student can give me what topics they are struggling with ahead of time, so when it comes time for the lesson I am prepared and ready to make the most out of the tutoring session. A student I tutored would bring their homework which helped guide the lesson. This helped us focus the session on the teacher's curriculum. We worked on homework and studying for tests, going over problems together to ensure understanding. During the same session, I would have them work on additional problems to reinforce the concepts that they had difficulty with. I would also bring additional resources for them to use and review with which they found very helpful.
