My experience with caring for someone who is special needs is respecting them as an individual. I care about meeting their daily goals on a social level some independence, and physical goals in meeting the individual where they are at. I've worked with individual's with all types of disabilities including all ages from children to adults. In my experience, I've learned to challenge myself in teaching, personal care, and some physical motor activities. I've worked with an individual who has low movement in the upper and lower body and needed help with both feeding and toileting.
