After 20 years of in home support services for seniors, I haven't lost my enthusiasm for finding a way to make an elderly client safe, secure, and happy having an outsider becoming part of their daily life. I adore working with the elderly, who sometimes feel isolated and unable to be part of the outside world. I have cared for breast cancer clients, end stage care clients, heart patients, long term care, severely disabled young adults, and those clients who just need an extra pair of hands to continue living on their own. I am able to get non-compliant individuals in and out of the shower, dress them if needed, and transfer wheelchair clients to bed or bath. I am very good at organizational skills, appointment follow ups with physicians, meds. follow up with in home exercises from. Physical therapist, meal prep, emotional support, and active conversation. Many of my clients have been long term assignments, three to five years, with excellent local references on request. I have my B. A. In
Art from San Jose State University, but my calling has been to work at O'Connor Hospital, Monterey Peninsula Hospital, and the Carmel Foundation for elder care. I am happy working with either a man,
woman, or a couple wanting to stay in their home, or assisting a person already living in an assisted living situation. I have already done this for two years at Saratoga Retirement Community.
