From a young age, Monique has possessed an incredible ability to connect with people. This care and compassion held our family together as she cared for our ailing grandparents in the final years of their lives. Not wanting to place them in homes, Monique dedicated herself to providing their daily care so that they could remain in their own home. During this time, our grandfather was battling rapidly progressing Parkinson's, COPD, as well as mental issues and, concurrently, our grandmother possessed limited mobility following a major stroke. Following their passing in 2007 and 2008, Monique pursued work with the Office for the Aging, as well as serving on the board for the local NAMI chapter. Providing care to the elderly has been a passion for her and she has unfailing provided incredible, compassionate service. Through her work with the Office for the Aging, Monique has availed herself of intensive trainings that covered an array of issues which face the elderly; from chronic pain to neurological issues to end of life concerns. In addition to past work with the Office for the Aging and with NAMI, Monique has dedicated herself to volunteering with Thera-pets.
