I've recently just graduated from CNA school at the end of June. I am considered GNA as of now which is a graduate nurse assistant. Shortly, I will be taking my CNA state board exam through state in hopes to get licensed. I have no doubt that I would not pass, for I am a very studious, level headed person and finished 3rd in my class out of 20 some students. Throughout CNA school, I have learned various skills such as bed bath, feeding, re-positioning on side, catheter and perineal care, etc. We practiced these skills more times than I can count so when it comes to taking care of someone I'm more than prepared. I have volunteered at many nursing homes and have taken care of my grandma when she was sick over a 3 month period. Care that was needed for her, I proved everyday during the week. I am absolutely passionate about helping people. That was my drive for becoming a CNA, but also majoring in Nursing. What you put into your work will never compare to what you get out of it. There is nothing more rewarding than helping someone. There is such good thing as good CNA's and bad CNA's, but the way I differentiate the 2 is by thinking, "would I want someone treating my mom that way."
