I am a special needs teacher currently taking a break from the classroom by working as a nanny. I am currently looking to fill my mornings now that both kids are in school full day and my nanny family only requires afternoons/evenings. I have 6 years of formal experience in working with individuals with significant cognitive and physical disabilities. I am comfortable with most any disability and/or diagnosis and don't mind changing diapers if needed. I have experience with g-tube feedings and exposure to individuals with trachs. I can assist with safe transfers. I understand that not all kids communicate in the same way and have a lot of experience with many different modes of non-verbal communication. I have worked on a multi-disciplinary team and can carry out OT/PT/SLP programs as needed. I am hard-working, but more importantly kind-hearted and a fast learner.
