August 8, 2013 Carla has been with us for almost a year. I've always told Carla that I'd like to have her in our family until my son K. goes to college. So, we are really sad to let her go due to changes in our job situation. She has been a family to us and we will miss her a lot. Carla is an incredibly loving and caring nanny. She has been K.'s third parent. He absolutely loves her and misses her during the weekend. Seeing my son give big hugs and kisses to her has been very assuring: I know that is not something you can teach little ones. She is a great person to be around. Her happiness and positive attitude towards life have been an inspiration for all of us. She has been a great role model for my son who is becoming a happy, positive and social person. She is a curious person who loves to learn. My son is bi-lingual and she has shown effort to learn Turkish words my son frequently uses which is a great example of her dedication to her job. As a working mother, I have always had the comfort of knowing how well my son is cared for and how much he is loved when Carla is with him. Carla loves children and clearly enjoys being around them and taking care of them. Seeing my son joyfully playing with Carla and hearing their laughter together is one of the most enjoyable times of my day. She is also a great educator. She has an amazing ability to teach things by turning them into a game. When I first met Carla, she told me that she would teach my son numbers, letters, shapes, colors etc. And I didn't pay much attention as this was told to me by nannies before. K. was one-year-old when she started working with us. In a year, I realize everything she said was true: I have a two-year-old son who can count, recognize letters and speak full sentences. My son loves books and it is partly thanks to Carla's love for books and her ability to turn reading into such a fun activity that he has been a passionate reader. During the time Carla worked with us, she has made our lives much easier and more enjoyable. She cooked delicious meals for us taking initiative about what to cook and surprising us. She also took care of some household chores, always with a big smile on her face. Carla has a lot of fans in our neighborhood, at the park and in our apartment building. I always hear compliments from other neighbors about how engaged, caring and loving she is and also have seen other kids giving hugs to her at the park. She is truly the best nanny one could dream of and a great person to raise a child together: I can't recommend her enough.
