I worked for my sister for 5 years, taking care of her son with Asperger's syndrome. I tried as often as possible to expose him to new experiences such as going to the zoo, going to the library, and we also went on a road trip overnight to visit a cave. He did very well considering he had issues with being in public places. Recently, I began teaching him chess and he loves it. My sister had another child in July 2012 and has decided to stay home so I no longer work for her. I miss the daily interaction and would love to help another child or children to reach their full potential by exposing them to a variety of experiences and to be enriched by those experiences. I also paid for the basic background check and it is clean of course. I understand the importance of having the background check done when it comes to loved ones. I have one daughter who graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, magna cum laude, in May of 2013 and is starting grad school at Eastern Michigan in the fall of 2014, hence the need for me to go back to work. My interests include: reading (this summer I completed "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair, "The Circle" by Eggers, and currently reading "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand), crocheting, cooking, photography and I play classical flute. If my talents and experience are of interest to you, please do contact me for a face to face meeting. Thank you for your consideration.
