I have had the privilege of working with children and teens with F. A. S, mobility issues and those on the autism spectrum. My most recent position was with an elderly woman in the very late stages of Alzheimer's. I am incredibly passionate about what I do and make an effort to have plans ready and activities always available. I am very flexible and always willing to learn new things and provide the best care possible.

Meara worked for more than a year as a caregiver for my 86 year old mother. I knew Meara in my capacity as a librarian at a public library- she was a teen who came to the library weekly and who loved (and loves now) to read. She was always willing to help with projects at the library, and so when I needed someone trustworthy to help care for my mom, I thought of her and invited her to come work for me. Meara was reliable and punctual and handled a very difficult job well. My mom was a non-verbal invalid who needed total care. She had Alzheimer's disease as well as advanced Parkinson's. Meara did not complain about the often unpleasant tasks required of her (such as toileting and bathing, and showed compassion and kindness. This was a boring job in some respects, because my mother was not able to interact with Meara verbally and she also slept a lot. Meara was happy to adjust her schedule according to my needs and was able to adapt to changes in care as needed. She is a very smart, independent, and compassionate young woman and I feel she would be able to handle any care situation in a thoughtful and professional manner.
