Hey! I absolutely adore individuals with special needs. Their outlook on life is completely inspiring and when I became involved with people with special needs it changed my life. I began working with them at a camp for outdoor learning. I worked with individuals of all ages and disabilities. I learned very quickly how to care for multiple individuals at once with illnesses from deafness to autism and cerebral palsy to seizure disorders. I actually supported a couple campers during their seizures. I learned how to handle aggressive campers facing behavioral issues, self-harming, and made sure campers who needed full assistance always had what they needed. I do know basic American Sign Language and find it a hobby to become fluent in it. It has become a passion of mine and I cannot wait for the opportunity to give back. I have used tools such as a Hoyer lifts, feeding tubes, catheters, language tools, and all kinds of wheel chairs. I love a new challenge and am always willing to learn and adapt to your family's needs. I am not restricted to sitting at home if you would prefer more interactive activities to help develop your family's skills! One of my favorites is horse back riding!
