I have over four years of experience caring for and assisting individuals with a variety of special needs. For the past four years, I have worked part-time as a carer at a program dedicated to providing childcare for children with developmental, physical, social, and emotional differences. I have worked with kids from ages 2 to 16 who have had a variety of different needs, including children with oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, ASD, cerebral palsy, William's syndrome, Down syndrome, epilepsy, severe allergies, and traumatic brain injury. I also worked as an intern at a clinical autism center, where I assisted in therapy with children and adolescents to help them learn new skills and encourage social interaction. I love working with kids and teenagers of all abilities, and I'm basing my career around this love - I'm currently working as a lab manager at a child psychology lab at UCSC, because I want to pursue a career in pediatric clinical psychology.
