I cared for my father for many years as he was managing dementia, helping him to maintain a positive outlook, modified his lifelong interests and passions as well as his physical and cognitive health, including meal prep, bathing, exercise for vitality and balance maintenance, and helping him to reminisce while I wrote a simple memoir of his life. I successfully adapted my 20 years of directing children's programs to provide a balance between joyful, easy and interesting days and my knowledge of senior's needs to a comprehensive individualized program of care and well-being. Recently I have applied the same level of care to 2 seniors with dementia. I would love to learn what works best for your beloved parent and co-create a great caregiving situation with you. I also have done a bit of home health aid work. I am trained as a mind-body health coach, which I would love to weave into my caregiving if desired. I would welcome a situation that includes dementia care and/or hospice care.

Mary Anne cared for my father as a special project to support and strengthen his capacities for mobility, cognition, memory, and socialization in preparation for an adult daycare program. During the six weeks that she worked for us, I as well as the doctor and physical therapist, noted significant improvements in his health and well-being. During her time with my father, Mary Anne coordinated a wide-ranging collection of specific tasks, many based on my father's particular medical needs, while supporting him in all of his daily activities. As my father's needs changed and/or a new solution seemed necessary, Mary Anne was adaptable and flexible, keeping in close communication with me. In many ways big and small, Mary Anne helped my father to feel more connected to the world and in charge of his life. We enjoyed having Mary Anne with us and recommend her as a devoted caregiver.
