While in school, I worked part time as an in-home senior caregiver. Through my clinical rotations, I found the patients were getting their medical needs met, but their mental/emotional needs were bypassed time after time. My heart broke seeing this and I befriended these patients, giving them the listening ear they so needed and deserved.
