Since April of 2001, I have been doing CLS and Respite care for children with special needs. I am certified in CPR/First Aid, bloodborne pathogens, and recipient rights. The children I have worked with range from ages 3-18 years old. Many of my client are non verbal or have speech impairments. I also have experiences with special diets & dietary restrictions as well as different types of therapies. I also have a strong network of professionals in the special education field. I am very passionate in what I do and my goal is to make learning fun. With my clients I work on: Independent skills - Hygiene, toilet training, dressing, and other daily living skills; Social skills - Sharing, appropriate manners and interacting with other children, relationship building, developing empathy and sharing; Developmental learning - Evaluate age level and setting appropriate academics; Speech - Clarifying, building words and sentences, mouth exercises, etc.; Fine motor - Handwriting; Reading - Understanding and relating to stories
