During my senior year of high school I spent my free hours volunteering in my school's Special Education (FALS) program. Through this volunteer work I got lots of hands-on experience working with students with a variety of special needs, such as cerebral palsy, visual impairment (partial blindness), autism, nonverbal communication, and down syndrome. Working with these students changed my life, quite literally, as I changed my planned degree path from Graphic Design to Special Education. I am now a junior in college working towards my All-Level Special Education certification. I have developed the strong need to nurture, and be a voice for those who society sometimes doesn't listen to.

She was my special needs para at school and was amazing. She would always go above and beyond for him and make sure to check on him even if they weren't scheduled to see each other that day. She met us at his Sr. prom so she could attend it with him. Just the sweetest soul and is patient with my son. I would recommend her for any care-giving position.
