A majority of my experience caring for individuals with special needs comes from my passion for a local club that I was apart of all throughout high school. With my heavy involvement in Athletes Helping Athletes, I was able to learn from numerous amazing people, how to properly and respectfully interact and create friendships with individuals with special needs. In college I have been paired one on one, through an organization called Best Buddies, with a young adult who had very little communication skills. Over the past academic year I was able to get him to eventually open up to me and now we have created a beautiful friendship which I hope will carry into the coming years. I truly love working with individuals with special needs since they are often overlooked and through my experience they have been the happiest and brightest lights I have ever met!
