About Madeline

Madeline watched our two older children over the summer, and I can only say she was amazing. While the younger one is easy-going and flexible, our older daughter, at the edge of teen-hood, can be difficult and downright grumpy. She did not want a sitter and did not want anyone to tell her what to do. We also have a jumpy big puppy who is still learning his manners. Madeline stepped into this chaos with good humor and common sense. Every day, she worked with my older one on math, a feat her school teacher and us at home failed to accomplish last year. Books were read, friends were visited or invited for playdates. She took them on hikes and adventures. They went to the pool. She managed our complicated schedule, which included summer swim team, the occasional camp and the weekly classes. At a time when kids were both away on playdates, she even offered to our dog for a hike! Honestly, she made our kids' vacation bright and gave us peace of mind to go to work. Mary Poppins!
