I have worked with special needs children since seventh grade in middle school. I have volunteered at Miracle League of Westchester (sports games for disabled children), at my local JCC in the special needs program called Toward Tomorrow for 5 years now, and been a 1:1 aide for children with disabilities in the classroom. I also did an internship at Helping Celebrate Abilities preschool in Johnson City, NY where I worked in the speech department with the children. My plan is to go to graduate school for a master's in speech-language pathology, concentrating in special education.
