I've worked with a woman who had MS and a woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis My responsibilities were to get them out of bed and into their wheelchair. I assisted with all ADL's, starting with breakfast, (my client with MS needed me to feed her) brushing and flossing teeth, bathing, emptying and cleaning catheter, getting them dressed and ready for the day.
I also did dishes, washed under garments in sink, vacuumed, fed 2 cats and a dog. Depending on the client I am with, I go to choir practice or I take them out for walks. For one client, we'd go for a drive around familiar places to stimulate her. I have experience working with Aggressive/Progressive RA, Dementia, Cerebral Palsy, and diabetic clients. The reason I love my job is because I enjoy the feeling of helping someone in need and seeing their smile when I get there. I enjoy making scrapbooks. I love scrap booking and making cards. I send the cards to the troops so that they can send one to their loved ones. I am a responsible, reliable, patient, and caring person.
