While working under a YMCA Program for those individuals with special needs, I learned verbal and non-verbal communication skills. This is an important skill, which I was fortunate to benefit from while I worked with and assisted those with special needs. Working one on one with children and being able to communicate daily with them and their parents.
Started as a volunteer with this program, which transited into a paid position in September of 2016. I would assist the director of the program with various activities for the members of the group
Was the after-school care person for two darling girls ages 7 and 4. My duties included transportation pickup for the oldest child from the bus stop and then pick up of the youngest child from Preschool. We would have various activities from Dance to Tennis lessons depending on their weekly schedule. On non-lesson days I would bake with them, assist with homework and prepare dinner for them based on daily from menus from their parents.
