Hello, During the academic year I work as a paraeducator in a Portland public high school. I have experience working with children and youth of all age ranges, from infancy to late teens, and abilities in both an educational and care capacity. I have worked with children and youth with orthopedic, visual, intellectual, genetic, learning, or developmental disabilities, as well as with children with ADHD, communication disorders, or who are on the Autism Spectrum. I have a year of experience working with people who are non-verbal. Although my knowledge of ASL is extremely limited, I am able and willing to learn more if need be. I love working with children and youth with disabilities. Witnessing and assisting any child, especially those typically underestimated and underserved, grow into their full potential is a uniquely wonderful experience.
