For the past five years, I have cared for two boys with spina bifida and one boy with cerebral palsy. My responsibilities include grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, transferring, light housework, and behavioral guidance. I have also cared for a male adult with spina bifida. My responsibilities include bathing, grooming, transferring, feeding, and physical therapy. As a radiation therapist, I have cared for people who battle with cancer. The best part of caring for people with special needs is the gratitude they have for the care you provide. It is rewarding to build relationships with them and to help them overcome obstacles. I am blessed to have a job that I look forward to going to everyday and that utilizes my compassionate personality to make an impact on the lives of the people I care for.
