I was employed, working for special needs persons for about four years. I started at an organization ARC of Waterbury. I would oversee a group of people, while tending to physical and behavioral needs. We would provide fun activities and go to functions. I was then asked to take care of a client who required one-to-one care, for her behavioral needs were more serious. She had bi-polar, depression, and would harm herself. We clicked and I was able to get her to participate in activities and put a smile on her face. Her parents then asked me to work with her through the state and I would work afternoons to early evenings, taking her out to do activities while tending to her physical and mental needs. I voluntarily resigned after providing for her, for three years, as I was offered a full-time job elsewhere. I regret my resignation, as I miss the rewarding job of caring for others. I love helping people and want to make a career of this interest one day. I have worked with mental disorders, physical impairments, and social disorders. I would love to get back into this field as it is so rewarding.
